The year Meru Chem opened its first godown in Masjid Bunder. Same family, same trade, ever since.

OUR STORY

It started with one godown and a promise about dates.

In 1996 the business was a single rented godown in Masjid Bunder, a telephone, and a handful of acids and solvents moving to dye houses across Maharashtra. What set it apart then is what sets it apart now: if we said Thursday, it went on Thursday.

Three decades later the scale has changed and the principle has not. Eight divisions now run under one roof, from industrial acids through to pharmaceutical raw materials and minerals. We hold inventory rather than broker it, qualify manufacturers and stay with them, and prepare export documentation in-house so consignments clear customs the first time. The company is still privately held and still run by the family that started it.

Our customers are procurement heads, plant managers and quality teams. They are not buying a brand — they are buying the certainty that their line keeps running. That is a harder thing to sell and a much harder thing to fake over thirty years.

Our mission

To keep our customers' plants running by holding the right chemical, in the right grade, in the right packing, ready to move — and by telling them the truth about lead times even when the truth is inconvenient. We would rather lose an order than a customer's trust in a date we gave them.
